Over the past six weeks we have been working with three local primary schools: Quarrybrae, St Michaels and St Marks with an art/regeneration programme in association with Parkhead Housing Association and with artist from Impact Arts. An exhibition of this work will take place soon.
We have also been carrying out a variety of workhsop with the schools eco committees and an eco event will be planned at Beardmore Park for eco committees to come together and share their practice and successes. will be working with Quarrybrae Primary School's eco committee to carry out activities in Beardmore Park.
Another important project is the Intergenerational workshops that we have been carrying out in the east end. This has cut across the generational divide to bring about positive dialogue between the group and has resulted in friendships and the exchanging of skills, both traditional and technological. We have also carried out joint visits with both groups to Museums such as Peoples Palace and Scotland Street Museum. We would like to thank Pensioners Action Group East for their continued support.
We strongly support the Friends of Berdmore Park and carry out a variety of activities throughout the year. Last year we worked with Parkhead Housing Association to celebrate their 30th Birthday by helping to organise 'Breakfast at Beardmore' which was a fun and vibrant event for all members of the community - we will keep you updated on the date and programme of activities.
