Parkhead Community Garden

Local Parkhead residents and community organisations are working together to set up a new community garden off Tollcross Road in Parkhead.

The garden, being developed in collaboration with the Grow Green with Glasgow’s East End project, Parkhead Housing Association and Glasgow Regeneration Agency, will be a space for local people to grow their own food and create a vibrant community resource with all the support and advice they need to get things growing.

Public consultation identified that local people felt a need for a community growing space in the Parkhead area, that there was support for such a project and that people were interested in getting involved in both the planning and development stages and using the gardens once they were established.  A group visited other community gardens in the city to get inspiration and ideas for what could be done. Some key elements were decided on and a draft plan has been drawn up.

• Wheelchair accessible paths

Any comments that people have on the plan are welcome.
