Volunteer Vacancy - Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteers If you are interested in looking after your local community and have two hours a fortnight free then this may be the Volunteer Vacancy for you! Playbusters Ltd in partnership with Glasgow Community Safety Services Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteer Litter Picker and project assistant About the volunteering opportunity Being a Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteer is a fantastic opportunity to help children learn! You can use your time positively taking action against littering to make communities safer and happier as part of our volunteer team. Playbusters have worked successfully with Glasgow Community Safety Services. Children and adult volunteers identify local areas needing attention and monitor issues. Unfortunately areas score poorly on the surveys completed and this team of all ages encourages others to act responsibly by being good role models. You will participate in fortnightly clean-ups. Many comment on how fantastic it is to see people taking action on littering and the results have been impressive and inspiring. This helps everyone gain a better local understanding and instigates pride in the community by working on local streets and play areas, to make it cleaner for everyone. As a volunteer you can nominate areas, pick litter using appropriate tools, participate in surveys and support the children, working alongside other adult volunteers and staff members. You will be supported by the Volunteer Coordinator and will have access to further development opportunities as part of our valued volunteer team. When Every second Wednesday afternoon from 3.30 to 4.30pm Skills/experience You do not need any experience to do this but you need to possess good interpersonal skills, be patient, be reliable, have a good sense of humour and enjoy spending time with children.
