The "B4 we were born" programme is a 6 week project carried out in schools. It is delivered by staff and older volunteers looking at "days gone by".

Discussions around fashion, employment, education, music, money, toys and much more take place between young people and older people. These workshops also include playing traditional games and a visit to museums where everyone has lunch and a fun day out together.

These workshops have proved to be very successful with young and older people both learning from each other. For example: the young people learn some history from the "olden days" or the "black and white days" as they sometimes refer to the past as. The older people have learned from the younger people how many things have changed i.e. technology, music, games etc.

On the final week the participants receive a certificate with thanks for participating in the workshops.
