Volunteer Week

Volunteer Week - Click for larger version Volunteers’ Week is an annual event which began in 1984. It celebrates the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK. It raises the profile of volunteers who regularly contribute, while inspiring others to get involved too.

Each year more organisations and participants take part in events which include award presentations, setting-up information booths and team challenges.

There is a burst of activity during 1st-7th June when organisations from the public, private and charity sectors hold parties and award ceremonies to thank volunteers, while potential volunteers are encouraged to find out more.

If you are already a volunteer or work for an organisation which has volunteers there are many resources on the Volunteers’ week website including event ideas. These can be used by anyone holding reward, recognition or recruitment events. Elsewhere on this site you can share your own experience of volunteers and volunteering, and read about others’ stories too.
