Eddie has been volunteering at Playbusters since April 2010 in a variety of opportunities like the Youth Board, Clubs, Go Play, Connecting Generations and MORE! He has been involved in most aspects of Playbusters’ work and is a huge hit with sheltered housing residents who are always asking after him because he brightens up their lives.

Eddie has been participating in Glasgow Life’s Young People into Volunteering and Leadership programme and is doing extremely well. Eddie says ‘volunteering has given me the chance to learn new things and develop new skills’.

Eddie has always been very reliable, enthusiastic and determined and takes on the role of ‘young leader’ as part of our valued volunteer team.

Margaret Layden Project Manager says ‘Young people like Eddie are the future. His enthusiasm and commitment to the community through his volunteering work is inspirational. He is clearly an asset to our organisation and to the communities where he works.’

Eddie’s CV has added value and his prospects for the future are looking great! He has a clear path of where he wants to go and how he will get there. He recently said his ideal job would be in youth work with sports as he is very passionate about how this will benefit young people.

A BIG THANK YOU to Eddie and all Playbusters volunteers who are making a huge difference to themselves and the whole community.
