Playbusters Summer Programme
Playbusters' Summer Programme has finished for another year with 244 attendances to various activities over a five week period. From the 12th of July to the 12th August young people were able to take part in a range of activities including Fire Reach safety, allotments, fishing, fun days at local parks, gardening projects at sheltered housing complexes, spanish workshops and trips to Blairdrummond Safari Park, Summerlee Heritage Park and Ayr beach and many others.

Firstport and Scotland Unltd are working together in Scotland to provide advice and funding opportunities for new start social entrepreneurs. Two main funds are available to individuals who have great ideas and the vision, passion, drive and commitment to develop them.
Social Entrepreneurs Fund
The Scottish Government's Social Entrepreneurs Fund is a £1 million fund aimed at individuals with ideas to start up new social enterprise in Scotland.
Millennium Awards Trust
Scotland Unltd's Millennium Awards is part of Unltd's UK wide programme and makes awards to social entrepreneurs who want to change the world for the better.
To make things simple, Firstport and Scotland Unltd have created a single application form and process for both funds.

Playbusters sign up as Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteers
Playbusters have a well established link with the Clean Glasgow Programme, working successfully together since September 2009 and are looking forward to continuing the good work and expanding into other areas in 2010.
Children and adult volunteers were given the opportunity to become ‘Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteers’ and partake in clean up events with Glasgow Community Safety Services and Playbusters staff on a regular basis. The children were asked to identify which areas they wanted to clean up and undertook monitoring of environmental issues as they worked. This not only aids the Clean Glasgow Campaign but helps the children gain a better understanding of their local environment by instigating pride in their local community.
