Hoaxbusters

Hoax Calls can kill ….was the message Playbusters kids got across at a drama they had specially created and performed for the first time at Playbusters office.   The drama ‘Hoaxbusters’ was to raise awareness of the impact of hoax calls to the Fire Service and was part of a project with the young people over community safety.    As part of the project the young people  also visited Jackton Police Training College with Playbusters staff and volunteers and they got to see at first hand a day in the life of a Police Officer.

Following on from the project over 70 young people from Parkhead and Wellpark who attend Playbusters club activities took part in the Fire Reach programme organised by Strathclyde Fire and Rescue.   They went along to Parkhead Fire Station and were given demonstrations on the fire equipment, a talk on fire safety and had a practical exercise of a rescue situation.  Afterwards, they were given a talk on Internet Safety by Police Officers.  All of the kids enjoyed taking part and were well equipped to pass the message on to others.
